German presidential visit to DICV
Chennai, 25th March 2018 – German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier today visited the manufacturing plant of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) in Oragadam near Chennai.
Daimler India Commercial Vehicles again named ‘CV Manufacturer of the Year’
Chennai – Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) - the wholly-owned Indian subsidiary of Daimler AG – has been named India’s ‘CV Manufacturer of the Year’ for the second time since 2014. At this year’s edition of the Apollo CV Awards held in Mumbai on 15th February, DICV also received two important awards for its heavy-duty truck BharatBenz 3723R and medium-duty truck BharatBenz 1014R Euro-V. In addition, the jury’s panel of industry experts named Mr. Erich Nesselhauf, Managing Director and CEO of DICV, ‘CV Man of the Year’. The Apollo CV Awards are the most reputed independent recognition for India’s commercial vehicle industry.
Focus on safety: BharatBenz introduces Driver State Monitoring System
Chennai – BharatBenz is forging ahead with the deployment of safety features in its trucks with the introduction of an innovative Driver State Monitoring System (DSMS). An industry-first in India’s commercial vehicle segment, the goal is to avoid dangerous situations of drivers falling asleep or otherwise being distracted at the wheel. The DSMS will be introduced on all premium variants of the BharatBenz heavy-duty truck range and will be available for order on other heavy-duty models and as an aftersales solution for existing heavy-duty customer vehicles. First deliveries to customers are planned for April 2018.

Mitsubishi Fuso participates in Japan’s first manned platooning test on public expressway
Kawasaki, Japan– Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) under Daimler Trucks Asia will take part in a manned platooning test along parts of the Shin Tomei Expressway between Hamamatsu Service Area (SA) and Enshu-morimachi Parking Area (PA) from January 23, 2018.

FUSO eCanter – First All-electric Truck in Series Production Delivered to Customers in Europe
Kawasaki, Japan – MFTBC – Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, under the umbrella of Daimler Trucks Asia, today delivered first units of its all-electric FUSO eCanter to European customers in Berlin. The renowned and globally operating logistics companies DHL, DB Schenker, Rhenus and Dachser will operate the all-electric, series-produced light-duty truck in their fleet. In future, these FUSO eCanter will play an important role in the companies’ sustainable fleet management, especially in urban delivery transport. With the launch of the product brand - E-FUSO - in October, FUSO has already strengthened its commitment to alternative drivetrains. Over the next years, all truck and bus models will come with an additional electric variant.
